Keel Bay is located in the township known as Aghinish, just off the N84 that joins Ballinrobe to Castlebar in Co Mayo, Ireland. As its name suggests, Keel Bay is formed where the Keel River, which links Lough Mask with Lough Carra, joins Lough Mask and is an area of outstanding natural beauty complimented by abundant flora, fauna, and wildlife.
The picture on the left is taken from one of our boats leaving our bay and heading out into Lough Mask. In the distance the Partry Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to the lake, which has many islands and bays to explore.
Although located in this very tranquil setting, the main Mayo towns of Castlebar and Westport are only a short distance away, as is the rugged West of Ireland Atlantic coastline with its spectacular scenery. Galway is some 45 minutes away and the area is serviced by both Knock and Galway airports. See Location.
